PEFKO in May

We had a really enjoyable stay in Pefko House in May. We loved Assos and will definitely be back one day, despite the detour over the mountain!
Pefko House was spacious, elegant and comfortable, meeting all our needs. It's in a good position for the little village with good restaurants and a couple of mini-markets, the beach and a lovely walk up to the castle. We swam every day (a little fresh in May) and enjoyed the views all around. Car parking worked out fine.
The house was clean and well kept by Sultana, who was friendly and helpful. Good showers too.

Beautiful Assos
Greeted by the owners on arrival, really friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was just what we wanted, spacious with large bedrooms and cooling breeze, balcony looked straight onto the sea, absolutely stunning relaxing views, this is the most friendliest, welcoming and generous part of Kefalonia we have been too and why we go back every year, the owners of the villa couldn't do enough for us and we were extremely great full and made our holiday all that much better. The property was very clean and the description of it was accurate, I liked every part of this place and can not give anything a bad review. If you have not been to Assos it's a must and I highly recommend this property as it's perfect, very easy to book and very accommodating owners. Value for money is great. Will be re-booking with them as soon as I get my leave authorised for next year . Thank you very much and look forward to seeing you and the villagers next year!

Stunning accommodation in the most beautiful of locations

My family stayed at Thalassa when we holidayed this summer (June 2016) in Assos, Kefalonia.

I was so looking forward to our holiday as the pictures of Assos looked stunning and the village really appealed to me. The accommodation and village of Assos did not disappoint one bit.

I thanked Vicky on our return for the pleasure of staying at Thalassa. This was a beautiful apartment with the most amazing views, a wonderful sight to wake up to each morning.

Staying in Assos was just wonderful, a small peaceful village with lovely people and restaurants serving the most amazing food. The bay was so safe for my boys to swim.

The accommodation and location were just what we were looking for and I have already recommended this accommodation to people while we were on our holiday here. We will definitely return.

We recently traveled to Assos to attend our son's wedding, a location he and his girlfriend had picked as their favourite place to marry and they weren't wrong, it is simply stunning.
I had booked the Apollonia apartment online for myself, my husband and two adult sons and it was perfect for us, spotlessly clean, comfortable, bed linen and towels changed regularly by a lovely friendly housekeeper, a private balcony which is wonderful to sit out at and enjoy the beautiful weather, air conditioning which is included in the rental price and mosquito nets on all windows which allows you to leave your bedroom window open at night so you can hear the water just below lapping against the shore...a wonderful treat. Just outside the apartment gates are steps leading directly to the crystal clear blue watered bay.....an amazing site when you first arrive. The owners, Vicky and Nick could not have been more helpful and were always available to offer help or answer any questions. Just a stroll away are four tavernas, all equally good with a great choice of foods whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you are looking for and I must say it was a pleasure to meet all the local people running the tavernas or the little shop, absolutely lovely, friendly people who made our stay, and the wedding, even more enjoyable than we could possibly ask for. I certainly intend to return to Assos again in the future.... a must-see location without any doubt.

Absolutely Jaw-Dropping!!!

I am actually from Greece, and I must say this is one of the most beautiful spots of the country I have ever had the pleasure of staying at.. The views were picturesque and the food was sublime! Already planning my next visit, thank you guys!!! x

GREAT GREEK GETAWAY

We've just got back from a lovely week in Apollonia, Assos. This is Greece as you hope it will be - a lovely village where the restaurant owner recites the menu choices and the shopkeeper tells you which is the best Feta for your salad. The sea is crystal clear and the snorkeling fabulous. The beach is pebbly rather than sandy but that wasn't a problem as you didn't get sand in your towel. The apartment gives you a wonderful view over the harbour - you can look down into the sea and across to the restaurants where you'll be eating later. it had everything we needed - a bath and a shower so everyone was happy - and a well-stocked kitchen. The fridge had wine and milk - just what we needed after our journey and a lovely touch. It felt spacious and clean and Mariana the cleaner was really friendly and helpful, coming in every day. We hired a car for the week so we got to Fiskardo, Sami and Myrtos beach easily but you could probably hire a taxi as the distances aren't great. We were lucky with our timing and saw beautiful wild flowers everywhere. The walk up to Assos Castle is highly recommended - it's paved all the way up so walking is easy and you get amazing views on every turn. There is an alternative way down which is slightly more tricky underfoot but means you get a different perspective on the return walk. All in all, a great way to recharge the batteries. We certainly hope to return.

STUNNING LOCATION

Apartment with fabulous view from the balcony, clean and tidy with wonderful, helpful housekeeper.
Lovely surroundings, small little village with tavernas and very nice people.
Easy to find, car is necessary.

TOTAL RELAXATION

When we arrived we couldn't wait to see the view from the balcony and we weren't disappointed, absolutely stunning.
The owners arranged transport from the airport and there was water, wine tea, coffee, milk and sugar waiting when we arrived all at no extra cost.
The apartment was very spacious with plenty of room for 4 adults. Flyscreens on the windows so could sleep with them open, no mosquitoes and you could hear the sea.
Bliss! Full-size bath with a shower so powerful it nearly knocked me over. The cleaner came every day to empty bins etc, sheets and towels changed and full clean midweek.

The village is lovely, the people very friendly, the local taxi driver well worth using. It was very quiet when we were there the first week in May but I would imagine it gets quite busy with day-trippers high season.
Only one small mini-market but enough for everyday needs.
There are four or five restaurants and we never had a bad meal. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend and can't wait to return. E-mail the owners and they will do all they can to help.No complaints about my week away what so ever

GORGEOUS SPOT,

Apollonia is a lovely apartment in Assos where we have stayed some years ago and where we have just returned with our nine year old daughter. It sits in a superb position in the bay and is one of those 'to die for' spots where you can enjoy a glass on the balcony in the evening and wonder where else in the world you would rather be. Alternatively it is the simplest thing in the world to go down the steps to the beach and swim (the swimming area is buoyed off from boats and very calm and our daughter loved it).

Vicky and Nick are most welcoming hosts and on the practical side the apartment is spotless, cleaned and with linen changes throughout the week and with air conditioning part of the hire fee on the basis that it is used appropriately. We are naturally drawn to try different places in the world as there are only so many holidays one has in life...and yet, there is a draw to Assos and to Apollonia that is so strong. Look at the photos and see for yourself - it is as good as it looks.

PERFECT!

My husband and I stayed for a week during our honeymoon, and we absolutely loved our stay! Thimari apartment had spectacular views over the bay, and after travelling around the whole island, we concluded that this apartment was in the most beautiful spot going! It was really quiet at night so it was a really relaxing stay. The beach just down from the property was quiet, one of which was lovely to snorkel in- lots of fish! The apartment was immaculate and air conditioning cooled the property very quickly. Was a really practical apartment, but still so beautifully done. The views from the balconies were amazing so we chose to cook dinner in quite a bit and enjoy the views! Easy to find from airport too- we had a car and would definitely recommend getting one. We will be back for sure! 🙂 Thank you very much.

APOLLONIA APARTMENT

A lovely apartment in a super location. The property was very clean and well maintained. Marianna, who looks after the apartments, was a gem. The information we received prior to booking was very good and the apartment was exactly as described, if not better.

Assos is fantastic - small, friendly and relaxing with a beautiful bay.

I wouldn't hesitate to visit Assos or Apollonia again.
